When I was just six years old, my father purchased our first computer, an Apple II. He taught me how to program in BASIC, and I was hooked. Over the decades I learned other languages probably a dozen variations each of pascal, basic, c, and and even assembly languages for intel x86, Z80 and more.
Today, I’m a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer with a focus primarily on n-Tier, enterprise applications. I’ve consulted for many companies ranging from small businesses to multi-billion dollar international corporations.
After writing software for this long, I’ve researched a lot about computer science both in books and classes but also the school of hard knocks. I’ve come to realize that computer science isn’t just a science, it’s also art. Coding might only take hours to learn, but it takes a lifetime to master.
